Direct Loan Questions and Answers
Here are some of the most frequently
asked questions about loans. If there's a question not covered below,
which you think should be included, then please email us .
How much can I borrow? You can borrow a minimum of £5,000 up to a maximum of £100,000 and you must be a homeowner.
What is the difference between a secured
and an unsecured loan? The main difference is that a secured loan is secured on property
and an unsecured loan is not. A secured loan is designed for the
homeowner that allows them to use the value in their property as security.
This type of loan can usually be used for any purpose. An unsecured loan
can also be used for many purposes. The credit rating or financial position
of the applicant is such that no security for the loan is required. Interest
rates for secured loans are generally lower than unsecured loans. Secured
loan lenders are more willing to accept a lower credit rating. Normally secured loans can be repaid over a longer period with a lower monthly repayment. 21st Direct do not
arrange unsecured loans. We only accept homeowner applications for secured loans.
How long will it take to make a decision? Usually less than 24 hours from receipt of your emailed loan application form.
I have had problems obtaining loans
in the past due to poor credit rating. Can 21st Direct help me?

discuss all options available. We are not tied to a specific lender and, therefore, can offer you
independent advice as to which lender's terms best suit your needs.
What APR will I pay on my loan? The APR depends on the amount borrowed, your credit rating and the lender.

your prior consent.

interest will be given in accordance with the Consumer Credit Act 1974 and the Consumer Credit (Early Settlement) Regulations 2004.
Can I repay more than the agreed monthly instalment? Yes, but only with selected lenders. This will reduce the amount of interest you
would otherwise pay and shorten the term of the loan.
What happens if I move home? You simply either repay your loan from the proceeds of your house sale or many lenders can arrange to transfer the balance of the loan to the new property.
